I was hoping for a little less wind than recently today so that I could go kite-surfing as I just didn't have the energy to go windsurfing. Luckily my wishes were granted, with about 12 knots most of the day and then around 2pm it started filling in a bit more to perfect 11m weather. Everyone else (and there were loads of them) had been out with big kites all day.

To start with I was just nicely powered up with the 11m and everyone else who had been on the water got off just as I got on, leaving just me and Chris out there. I had a while on the water just nicely powered up like that and then the wind started picking up even more. I was a little overpowered on a few runs, and then eventually it got to about 20 knots and I just couldn't keep myself on the water. Thankfully there was still someone hanging around on the beach to catch my kite as even with it right at the edge of the window and just off the ground I was still getting dragged up the beach.

Chris came in and as well and made some adjustments to his kite before going back out. Mine was already completely depowered so I had to pack up. I probably should have been a little more patient as it soon eased off again to a more manageable 16-18 knots.

Still, not a bad session, I timed the wind fairly well, and also managed to avoid the crowds as it was really busy just before I got on the water. The days are getting longer too...won't be long before proper evening sessions are possible and pre-work sessions in the morning too.
